Welsh law firm JCP Solicitors has advised on £78 million in dental practice M&A deals in the space of just over four years. The company, which is headquartered in Swansea and has further offices across South and West Wales, has been advising on dental transactions since establishing its specialist healthcare team in 2018.
The impressive activity driven by JCP has come amid a period of significant consolidation within the UK’s dental sector, which remains highly fragmented. The industry has seen significant growth over recent years as a result of factors including pent-up post-COVID demand and the growing popularity of cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
This has attracted considerable investment from private equity firms, which often back buy-and-build strategies at small groups or independent operators, while large corporate dental groups have also been active buyers.
JCP’s healthcare team is headed by Chris Davies, an associate member of the National Association of Dental Accountants and Lawyers (NASDAL). JCP is one of three Welsh law firms to have a NASDAL associate member in its team.
The firm’s dental M&A activity shows no signs of slowing down, with a further £25 million of transactions due to be completed during 2023.
