Manchester-based law firm consolidator Metamorph Group has completed the acquisition of Buckinghamshire-based Browns Solicitors. The deal is the fast-growing group’s tenth acquisition since it was founded in January 2016, taking its underlying revenue to around £35 million per annum and total staff headcount to around 700.
Browns Solicitors specialises in commercial property and residential conveyancing, as well as wills and probate. Post-acquisition, the firm will continue to trade under its original name and serve its existing local client-base.

Browns Solicitors becomes the seventh multi-practice law company in the Metamorph group, alongside Linder Myers, Terry Jones, Parrott & Coales, Knight Polson, Donnelly & Elliot and Verisona Law. The group also includes conveyancing services firms Beaumont Legal and BPL Solicitors as well as SLC Solicitors, which offers debt collection and legal services to clients in the UK property market.
Metamorph’s acquisition model focuses on outright takeovers of existing businesses, typically involving the acquisition of the target company’s business and assets, rather than its current legal entity.
The group largely targets private client firms working in the residential conveyancing, trusts and estates, family and wills areas. It also considers firms that provide local SME corporate services or that operate within a strong niche sector.
