Lambskin processor to the leather industry Zivana Skins UK has been purchased by tannery Colomer Munmany.
Based in Thirsk, Zivana Skins has a turnover of £2.2 million and collects fresh skins and hides from various abattoirs across the UK. It takes the skins to its warehouse for grading, salting and palletising in North Yorkshire.
The buyer, Wakefield-based Colomer Munmany which supplies to companies such as UGG and Burberry and some designer Italian brands, wants the deal to broaden its capabilities to manage raw materials in Britain.
Contract negotiations were managed by commercial lawyer Cordelia King at King Beaumont Legal, who had recently returned to the practice. The firm also arranged the due diligence and a new three-year lease for Zivana’s existing premises.
Commenting on the proceedings senior partner at Beaumont Legal Roy Cusworth said: “2104 has been an extremely strong year for us so far. We were very pleased to complete this key business acquisition for Colomer Munmany and Cordelia’s timely appointment meant that she was able to guide the deal to a fast and successful conclusion.”
Zivana Skins UK was part of the Zivana Group, which also includes operations in Turkey, China, Switzerland and France. The group itself was not purchased in the deal.
