Hotel operator J&G Inns Limited has filed for administration.
The firm, which is run by Garry Smith and operates three hotels located in the north of the country, has confirmed that it will sell off two of its major assets, but that both premises will remain open and trading as normal whilst a buyer is sought.
Warkworth House hotel near Alnwick Castle and the Lord Crewe Arms hotel in Blanchland will both be sold, whilst no plans have yet been announced for the third hotel in the J&G Inns portfolio, Brackenrigg Inn near Ullswater in the Lake District.
Begbies Traynor in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne has been appointed by the hotel operator to act as administrator and to oversee the sale of the two historic hotels, whilst property agents Christie & Co will handle the marketing of the commercial properties for sale.
