Findel has confirmed that it is holding discussions regarding the potential sale of its healthcare division.
The company currently operates home shopping, educational and healthcare businesses but has confirmed that NRS, the healthcare area of the company, could be put up for sale.
NRS is targeted at customers who want to maintain an independent lifestyle and sells items including mobility products, bath seats, walking frames, food trolleys and other disability aids.
It was acquired by Findel back in 2001 and now employs around 500 people from its head office in Ashby, Leicestershire and other sites around the country.
A statement from Findel in Hyde read: “The board of Findel confirms that it is in preliminary discussions regarding a potential sale of its healthcare division, NRS. There can be no certainty that any agreement will be reached. The company will keep the market informed as appropriate.”
Findel was established in 1955. The NRS brand, which stands for the original trading name of Nottingham Rehab Supplies, was established in 1947 and provided simple rehabilitation aids to servicemen from the Second World War before it was acquired by Findel.
