JW Jones and Son Limited, an electrical, heating and plumbing services company, has been acquired by multi-disciplinary engineering firm 24-7 Group. The deal is a strategic acquisition, aligning with 24-7's long-term growth strategy.
Founded in the 1950s, JW Jones and Son is based at Mochdre Business Park in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The company is a specialist in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical, heating and plumbing and delivers fully-services heating packages to both the commercial and residential markets.
Over recent years, the company has expanded its service offering into renewable energy solutions, including solar and air source heat pump packages. 24-7 Group says it plans to continue this evolution under its ownership.
24-7 Group, which is based in Sale, provides a single-source, integrated multi-disciplinary engineering service, offering technical-led services to a range of sectors.
The acquisition of JW Jones and Son is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding 24-7's market presence, diversifying the group’s product and service offerings and enhancing its overall value proposition to customers, as well as giving it access to customer relationships that have been established over the course of 75 years.
Richard Jones, partner at JW Jones and Son, commented: "I'm really pleased for the business to be joining the 24-7 Group. We know in their hands, the history and reputation that the Jones family has built up over three generations will continue, whilst the business will benefit from being part of a far bigger entity."
Andy Hawes, Chief Executive of 24-7 Group, said: "The acquisition of JW Jones and Son means which we have now incorporated, helps form part of our strategic growth plan. We are now capable of self-delivering "renewable" energy solutions including EV charging throughout the entire Northwest region and beyond."
