The joint administrators of a distressed healthcare company are seeking buyers for three care homes in the south of England.
Bob Maxwell and Julie Palmer were appointed as joint administrators of Dorchester Care LLP and its designated member Lyndale Healthcare Ltd on 10 April. They are now looking for buyers for its nursing homes in Dorchester and Bournemouth.
In Dorchester, the Greenbushes Nursing Home in Weymouth Avenue is open to bids. Any potential buyers should be aware that the 42-bed nursing home was closed before the joint administrators were appointed to the business, so business will need to be kickstarted by any new owners.
Administrators have also put Avenue House Nursing Home, again located in Weymouth Avenue, on the market. The 33-bed property has been in operation for nine years and is being offered as a going concern.
The third care home for sale, Windsor Court Nursing Home, is located in Bordorgan Road in Bournemouth. It accommodates 59 residents and again is being sold as a going concern with business running as normal while the sale is completed.
Mr Maxwell commented on the sales: “Our key concern is ensuring that the care homes continue to operate efficiently with the minimum of disruption to residents.
“For this reason, we have appointed a specialist healthcare management company whom we know well, and which has vast experience of managing care homes in administration, to oversee the smooth running of Avenue House and Windsor Court.”
He added that a buyer is being sought to take the businesses on as a going concern where possible, as well as a new owner for the closed Greenbushes Nursing Home.
