London-based Blue Cube Travel has been bought by globetrotting Israeli group Talma Travel Solutions.
Blue Cube Travel, founded by Mel Phaure and Kenny Stirling, specialises in ‘hands-on, concierge style corporate travel management’. Its services include travel management, events management which involves finding the best place for a client party anywhere in the world and accounts management. According to its most recent accounts it has around 45 employees.
Talma Travel Solutions range of services for business and leisure travellers also includes account management as well as analytics on a client’s travel spend, events, travel risk management and visa/passport services.
Talma’s chief executive Iya Magen said the Blue Cube deal was an important milestone for the group in the UK market. She said Blue Cube Travel, which will remain as a separate brand, stood out for its strong market presence and dedicated team.
“Our strategy involves identifying and pursuing additional Travel Management Company acquisitions that align with our visions and values particularly those that emphasise innovation and exceptional client service,” she said. “The UK is a key market for Talma due to its dynamic travel landscape. We believe that together with Blue Cube Travel we can enhance our offerings.”
Talma has been on an acquisition journey in recent years buying Hampshire-based corporate and leisure agency Norad Travel Group in March 2022 and taking a controlling stake in Brickell Travel in the US. Other deals include buying a majority stake in online booking engine Alice and hotel booking platform Arbitrip.
Phaure and Stirling will remain with Blue Cube after the deal and become shareholders in the combined business. They said in a joint statement: “We are delighted to be merging with Talma and Norad, which will increase our UK market share and extend our global reach, as well as allow us to further develop our technology offering and expand our high touch concierge services. We feel we have merged with our perfect match.”
