A popular, award-winning cafe and delicatessen in Bristol has been priced at around £277,000 as its owners look to sell the business.
Arch House Deli, in Bristol’s trendy Clifton Village, turns over about £485,000 a year, with a gross profit of approximately 47 per cent, selling gourmet deli food and wine and operating a busy, 68-seater cafe.
The business has won numerous awards, including a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, Deli of the Year 2015 from the Global Cheese Awards and Best Deli from Bristol Good Food Awards in 2014.
Selling agents said Arch House has an “excellent reputation” in Bristol and has considerable growth potential. The business was originally established in 2006 and has been managed by its current owners, who are looking to sell because of family commitments, since 2009.
Arch House’s deli, which operates seven days a week, sells more than 60 artisan cheeses, cured meats including serrano, chorizo and salami and locally-smoked ham.
The cafe, which has 30 internal covers and 38 external covers, offers breakfast pastries and croissants, hot and cold sandwiches, salads, platters, deli dishes and cakes. It also runs popular cheese and wine evenings.
“The business has built up an excellent reputation within the area for the very high quality of the goods and service offered, which has resulted in a very loyal client base, with a high volume of repeat trade and word-of-mouth recommendations,” selling agents Hilton Smythe said.
“We feel there is scope to increase the turnover by extending the opening hours, perhaps by opening later and catching the early evening clientele. There is also scope to offer a delivery service within the area. A new owner could embark on a modest marketing campaign to highlight the excellent goods and service offered.”
Anyone interested in the business is urged to view early, the agents added.
