Arco has acquired Warrington-based Confined Space Training Services (CSTS) in a deal that will enable Arco to expand its consultancy and training offering.
CSTS provides on-site support and rescue for workers who have to enter hazardous environments, and confined spaces in particular.
It has worked with London Underground and the Ministry of Defence, as well as many of Europe's largest businesses.
John Gillibrand, corporate finance partner with Baker Tilly, who advised CSTS on the deal with Rikesh Patel, commented on the business sale: “Both firms have an excellent reputation within their field, and this deal will allow them to expand their services and build on each other’s experience to make them a stronger player within the health and safety sector.”
CSTS Ltd's managing director, Gordon Lyon, added that the acquisition will allow CSTS's customers to benefit from having access to all of Arco's workplace safety products and services.
He added: “We look forward to working with Arco’s customers to deliver our training services and expertise in critical areas of health and safety.”
Arco, meanwhile, was named 'One to Watch' in The Times Best Companies Top 100 Survey. It has significant sales of over £268 million and employs around 1,600 people.
