Healthcare operator Ann’s Care Homes has continued its growth with the acquisition of seven Northern Ireland care homes from Larchwood care (NI). The acquisition adds 560 staff and the care of 320 residents, while bringing Ann’s portfolio of nursing homes across Northern Ireland to 16.
The nursing homes that have been acquired are Culmore Manor Care Centre in Derry-Londonderry, Glebe Care Centre and Dunanney Care Centre in Belfast, Apple Blossom Lodge Care Centre in Armagh, Melmount Manor Care Centre in Strabane and Kingsland Care Centre in Bangor.
Ann McQuade, director of Ann’s Care Homes, said: "Over the last number of years, we have increased our nursing home provision across Northern Ireland. As part of this continued growth, we are delighted to announce the acquisition of seven homes from Larchwood Care."
"We are committed to retaining each of these homes distinctive character and personality and will continue to work with and develop the existing staff whilst delivering the highest quality care and support to the residents and their families."
McQuade added that Ann’s and Larchwood were working closely with the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority and the Regional Trusts to help ensure a smooth migration of the care homes’ operations.
She confirmed that there would be no changes to existing care arrangements in terms of staffing or the teams directly involved with care at the nursing homes, which she said would ensure “people in the homes receiving residential and nursing care and their families can be assured of continuity of care."
Ann’s Home Care was founded in 1994 as a domiciliary care agency. Since then, the company, which is owned by the McQuade family, has established itself as Northern Ireland’s largest healthcare provider, with more than 3,000 staff across care home, home care and nursing agency divisions.
