Administrators are looking for a buyer for Richard C Hartley, an independent motor accessory and parts supplier in the North and Midlands.
The firm, which trades as Motormania and Midland Car Parts, was established 25 years ago and is one of the largest independent suppliers in the region.
It has 17 branches supported by the Midland Car Parts motor factor and distribution hub in Derby and employs 92 staff across the companies. There is no news regarding whether or not jobs at the branches in Derby, Long Eaton, Chesterfield, Burton and others will be protected but the administrators are looking to sell the firm as a going concern.
Accountancy firm Grant Thornton has been appointed as the company's administrator and is now seeking a buyer for the business. David Bennett from Grant Thornton told Insider Media: “Motormania and Midland Car Parts are long-established businesses with a strong reputation in the market place.
"We are continuing to trade the businesses with a view to selling them as going concerns and are currently in discussions with a number of interested parties.”
Richard C Hartley made a pre-tax profit of £44,000 on sales of £5 million in the year to 24 January 2010, according to the latest available financial records.
The business has developed a highly specialised platform that acquires remotely sensed geospatial data from various sources, including satellites, and uses AI-powered analytics to provide customers with actionable insights.
