Administrators at PKF are to put North Wales-based Southern Care Group on the market this month, two weeks after it entered administration.
Jon Newell of PKF said that many interested parties had come forward already. The group comprises nine care homes situated in Conwy, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham. Mr Newell said ensuring the consistency of quality care standards had been their first priority.
Some employee changes also took place with 15 ancillary staff at the Abergele head office having recently been made redundant; the administrators have since hired more care workers.
The administrators are looking to "get interested parties involved in the next four weeks", according to Mr Newell.
He continued: "We're not in a great rush to sell and, by the time we've gone through all the procedures, it could be Easter time before a transfer of ownership is completed.'
The company has the capacity to care for up to 300 elderly people, and some of the sites also have the ability to offer care for the mentally infirm.
Healthcare Management Solutions Ltd (HCMS) was brought in to operate the care homes to ensure minimum disruption to the residents. Joint administrator Kerry Bailey said: "The homes have all been visited and assessed as to the quality and standards of care and to ensure that residents, staff and relatives are fully informed.'
Financial problems led to the group’s move into administration according to Mr Newell, who said it had been “struggling to pay its liabilities.”
