Professional services company Accenture has completed the acquisition of UK-based digital consulting firms Infinity Works and Edenhouse. The deals, which both closed for undisclosed amounts, see Accenture add 660 new professionals to its UK business.
Leeds-headquartered Infinity Works provides cloud services for a range of UK clients across sectors including financial services, retail and government. The company employs around 440 staff and has offices across the UK, including locations in London, Edinburgh and Manchester.
The company has relationships with several key operators in the cloud sector, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is an Advanced Consulting Partner in AWS’s Partner Network. The acquisition of Infinity Works is aimed at strengthening Accenture's recently-created Accenture Cloud First: a multi-services group comprising around 70,000 cloud specialists. Accenture Cloud First will see a $3 billion (£2.1 billion) over the next three years, as the group looks to rapidly scale up it cloud service offerings.
Accenture Cloud First Global Lead Karthik Narain commented on the acquisition: “Acquiring Infinity Works is a significant step in advancing our Accenture Cloud First strategy and capabilities in the UK, and in achieving our purpose to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity.”
“The Infinity Works team brings deep cloud and engineering specialization and increases our ability to leverage cloud-native architectures, applications and methods to help clients innovate and operate with speed and flexibility at scale.”
Infinity Works co-founder Paul Henshaw added: “Ever since Infinity Works was founded, we have used cloud-first approaches to help our customers migrate to the cloud and enable them to digitally transform at scale and speed.”
“We are proud of our proven experience of delivering across multiple sectors using a combination of our unique working culture, values, and technical expertise. Accenture’s resources and capabilities will enable us to better support our customers’ digital projects while providing them with the same exceptional levels of service they’ve come to expect.”
In its most recent reports, for the year ended August 31 2020, Infinity Works reported post-tax profits of £9.1 million on turnover of £50.6 million. This is compared to profits of £5.2 million on £34 million turnover in 2019.
Edenhouse, meanwhile, is based in Warwickshire and employs 220 staff. The company is an SAP platinum partner and specialises in providing and hosting SAP products to a range of clients. It will joint Accenture’s UK-based SAP Business Group, increasing the group’s capacity to respond to growing demand for SAP solutions.
In its accounts to the year ending March 31 2020, Edenhouse registered post-tax profit of £3.7 million on turnover of £41.9 million. The company’s total equity at the time stood at £20.1 million, up from £16.3 million a year earlier.
Accenture Intelligent Platform Services Lead for the UK and Ireland John Erik Ellingsen said of the acquisition: “The global pandemic has increased demand for SAP’s cloud-based solutions and the additional skills we now have access to will enable us to rapidly meet the needs of our clients, helping them to progress more quickly on their path to value and become more sustainable businesses for the future.”
