New research has revealed a 25 per cent rise in the number of UK technology companies involved in mergers and acquisitions in the first half of this year, compared with the last six months of 2009.
According to consultancy firm Clearwater Corporate Finance, 96 transactions took place in the IT sector over the first six months of 2010, compared with just six across the whole of 2009.
Five of the technology deals were worth over £100 million.
Of particular note was the average value of the deals, which rose by five per cent to £45.7 million.
