Administrators at Deloitte have been called into Save Britain Money, the star of the popular programme The Call Centre, aired on BBC Three.
The company says it is business as usual despite entering administration on 7th October, and there have been no job losses amongst the 700 staff members. Its trading companies are also operating as normal.
The business sought refuge in the administrators’ control after a recent court case on the matter of an old office lease in Cardiff. It did not have the funds to cover the costs of damages awarded against it.
A statement read: “As a non-trading company the business did not have the financial resources available to pay damages awarded against it in a recent court case regarding a lease on a former office.”
Save Britain Money, which is still recruiting new staff, says the administrators are now managing the affairs of the company and working in tandem with creditors.
The Call Centre featured daily life and the antics of eccentric characters at the head offices of the companies trading under the Save Britain Money brand name and proved to become a surprise hit with viewers, earning BBC Three some of its highest ever ratings. The show focuses on the extroverted, outspoken boss and 55-year-old millionaire, Neville Wilshire or 'Nev' as the central figure of the show.
