Regional Landmark Hotels – the company formerly known as the Beetham Organisation – has fallen into administration, in the wake of insolvency practitioners being appointed to a number of companies within the Liverpool-based group's portfolio.
Don Bailey and Lindsey Cooper, from Baker Tilly Restructuring & Recovery, have been appointed as the administrators of the firm, and have said they are working with the company’s bosses to efficiently sell off the assets.
Mr Bailey said, "We are working with the former management team to ensure maximisation for creditors, which will predominantly include the disposal of investments in subsidiary companies."
Liverpool’s West Tower, which was built by Beetham, went into administration in February, along with Mapfield Properties, with Anglo Irish Bank appointed as administrators. Later in February, KPMG was appointed administrator to Beetham Hotels Liverpool and Beetham Hotels Manchester.
Both the Liverpool and Manchester hotels were successfully sold off to Cypriot businessman, Loucas Louca, in March, leaving the administrators of Regional Landmark Hotels confident that they will be able to sell off many of the company’s assets.
Beetham Organisation is maintaining a website that still says that its head office is in the West Tower in Liverpool, but the company has so far declined to comment on the matter.
