A haulage firm owned by beleaguered skip hire boss, William Matthew O'Grady, has been placed into administration.
Administrators from financial services firm KPMG, have been appointed to WM O'Grady (Haulage and Plant Hire) Ltd, which is based on the Cibyn Industrial Estate in Caernarfon, North Wales.
Another company belonging to Mr O'Grady - Gwynedd Skip Hire - which operates from the same premises, is still in business, according to records on Companies House.
It is understood that a buyer is being sought for the haulage firm, which had a turnover of £5 million in its last financial year, and was first established in 1987. According to its website, it specialises in plant hire, haulage, materials and demolition.
No-one from KPMG or WM O’Grady Ltd has yet commented on the administration. It is unclear as to how many jobs could be affected by the situation.
Mr O’Grady was convicted in March on 12 charges involving the illegal dumping of waste. The Environment Agency said he had been responsible for the biggest illegal landfill site that they had ever seen in North Wales. He is currently awaiting sentence, and is being investigated under The Proceeds of Crime Act, aimed at stripping him of illegal profits.
