Luxury travel company Air Parade, trading as Luxury Villa Escapes and Villa Parade, has been taken over by administrators from O’Haras.
The business failed leaving thousands of holidaymakers high and dry. The administrators are now looking into the problems that led to the present situation.
Air Parade rented out luxurious villas in the Mediterranean, predominantly Majorca and Portugal. Its subsidiary company specialised in flights.
Industry watchdog ABTA had been investigating Villa Parade after rumours that the firm had been offering rentals on properties it could not honour, before the company failed.
Air Parade had been tied up in a legal dispute with Travelopo regarding villa contracts in Majorca. Travel Weekly said social media conjecturing on the extent of the dispute is behind Villa Parade’s decline.
Commenting on the affected travellers O’Haras said: “The firm has 70 clients currently on holiday abroad and their holidays are secure.”
It is thought there are another 1,300 people with booked holidays, while 400 had booked just flights with Air Parade. Anyone affected by the closure of the business is being advised to contact ABTA.
