A top Leeds-based motorcycle dealership, that specialises in selling the famed Harley Davidson bikes, has called in the administrators.
The owners of the high-profile dealership, branded as Leeds Harley-Davidson, were forced to take action just a little over a year after the operation first opened its doors, due to what they called 'difficult market conditions'.
The dealership occupies a premises in the Wellington Road Industrial Estate and has around 25 employees, who have apparently been told to clear out their belongings. Following yesterday’s news that the company was filing for administration, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported that rows of bikes could be seen being lined up in the window of the showroom before they were loaded onto a series of lorries to be shipped away during the day.
The scene was markedly different to the opening of the company just last year, when dozens of leather-clad bikers from the region gathered at the site to celebrate its opening.
The Sheffield-based financial advisory firm, P&A Partnership, has been appointed to take care of the administration process. A representative for P&A has said that they are not yet ready to make a public statement on the matter.
