Interior fit-out specialist Estrella Group has been placed into administration, along with its subsidiaries, after the effects of the economic downturn on the sector took hold.
David Bennett and David Dunckley from Grant Thornton have been called in to Worcestershire-based Estrella Group and are working to save as much of the group as they can.
The group provided its fit-out services to the hotel, retail, financial and public sectors. Household name customers included Chanel, Marks & Spencers and Next.
As a whole, Estrella Group had £34 million sales, a workforce of 300 and operated from six locations across Britain, with its businesses mostly focused on shopfitting and building maintenance.
Oldbury-based ERI Ltd and Cambridgeshire-based Anglo ERI Ltd are still in administration and are being traded. ERI Ltd designs, makes and installs interiors, while Anglo ERI Ltd focuses on retail and hotel fixtures.
CDM Shopfitting Ltd has been closed down with 12 redundancies, and its assets have been sold off separately. CDM Displays Ltd has been successfully sold on to a new owner, saving nine jobs.
Precision engineering arm TJW Precision Engineering Ltd supplies to the aerospace industry and is not in administration. Based in Gloucestershire, it is still operating under the directors’ control.
