A care home in Plymouth looks to be in serious risk of entering administration as business recovery agents have been called in, according to reports from The Plymouth Herald.
Sunshine Care Limited provides visits to the homes of some 400 vulnerable people in the area with two major contracts through Plymouth City Council and Bristol City Council.
However, the firm has now called in Lameys Business Recovery to address a serious drop in turnover. At the moment it looks likely that Lameys will restructure the business and guide it towards a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA).
The team are also looking to protect the jobs of employees at the business, but at the moment around 30 administrative staff have already been put “on notice of redundancy”. Efforts are still being made to find work for anyone affected with related companies.
A spokesman for Lameys told the paper: “We will be providing assistance with regards to their redundancy claims, but again it is hoped that many of these can find alternative employment with other service providers.”
He added that the CVA is being structured to ensure that the company's residential care home in Plymstock is unaffected, as well as the live-in care services it provides.
The business recovery experts have stressed that their ongoing priority will be to ensure that the quality of care delivered by the business maintains high throughout the restructuring process.
