School bus company Countryliner has entered administration after Surrey County Council (SCC) terminated the firm's contracts.
Countryliner entered administration on Monday evening (8 October), leaving the council scrabbling for alternative operators to serve the local schools for the rest of the week.
Surrey Council has found new operators for ten of its routes, while East Sussex Council, has seen 13 of its schools and colleges affected and will need to track down new bus services.
SCC has assured young people and their families that school bus passes and season tickets that have been purchased from Countryliner will be accepted on the new operators until their expiry, presumably with the council providing the funds.

The group specialises in supplying and installing UPVC windows, doors and conservatories in a wide array of styles. Bespoke bathroom panelling and high-quality guttering products are also provided by the two companies.
The company is a well-regarded specialist provider of hygienic wall, floor, and ceiling cladding systems. To complement its core supply of PVC cladding, the business offers hot welded joints to prevent the build-up of bacteria and can supply stainles...
