Administrators have been brought into unwanted DVD reseller Pack Media, which trades as Zumu.
Jason Elliot and Craig Johns at accountancy firm Cowgill Holloway were appointed to Pack Media Limited on 15 April. They have not commented on the situation to the press so far. The website zumu.co.uk is down at present.
The Cheshire-based business resells unwanted games, films and CDs, and was set up by entrepreneur Neil Ouzman one year ago. Any unwanted items not sold on would be recycled.
Mr Ouzman’s intention at the onset was to create 30 jobs, and invest in a 55,000-square-foot processing facility in Leyland and a head office in Congleton.
Some Zumu customers have posted complaints on a review website this year about sending off their unwanted goods and not receiving the payment promised in return. In one case the cheque bounced. Many said they would report the company to Trading Standards.
Mr Ouzman first set up the business in the US in 2012, and has numerous complaints there too about slow payment in return for goods.
In response to the question – is Zumu a scam? Wafflesatnoon.com reports this answer from the company:
“We understand that our service may seem too good to be true at first. But we like to ensure all of our customers that we provide an honest and helpful service, and encourage them to read our customer reviews.”
