Administrators are working to salvage the major Leicestershire car dealership, Trinity Motors, after it collapsed following a period of "challenging trading".
The company, which is based in Coventry Road, Hinckley, has appointed Eddie Williams, Tony Barrell and Matthew Hammond from PricewaterhouseCoopers as administrators, to explore sale options and hopefully find a buyer for the business.
A statement issued by the administrators said that they were looking at all possible options from Trinity, which specialises in selling Hyundai and Mazda cars, but also operates a used car and parts business and a garage forecourt.
"Trinity Motors is a long-established family business which has unfortunately been severely affected by the ongoing impact of the economic downturn," said Mr Williams. "We are exploring the strategic options in respect of all parts of the group with key stakeholders and are looking to secure interest in the assets of the business if possible."
Trinity Motors has been selling cars in Hinckley for more than 40 years, after first setting up on a site in the centre of town. It moved to its current 16-acre location in 1982, and expanded to operate its own engineering firm, which provided services to a number of prestige manufacturers including Lotus, TVR, Morgan and Caterham.
The business is a turnkey operation with bespoke operating systems, this is achieved by the experienced and technical staff base that run the business day to day.
The company provides PAYE tax payers with assistance in claiming refunds for a variety of criteria, including expenses incurred from working from home, overpayments, and medical expenses.
