Wed, 27 Jun 2012 | ADMINISTRATION
Bradford Bulls rugby club has entered administration as it has failed to find the funds required to stay in business.
Administrators from The P&A Partnership have stated that they have just ten days to save the club from administration because “there are no funds to carry on longer”.
Joint administrator Brendan Guilfoyle added: “If anyone is interested in buying the Bulls then we need to hear from them right now. This famous club is now on the brink of extinction. The directors made every effort to try to save the club within the 14-day timescale issued by the courts, but the moratorium ended on Monday without any potential buyer coming forward."
Wages were paid by the club in June but the next set of payments remains uncertain. It is also not clear whether or not the 8 July match against the London Broncos will go ahead.
Mr Guilfoyle is due to meet with Rugby Football League officials to discuss the possible impact of the administration on the club. The league can deduct six points in light of its insolvency regulations, but this will be at the discretion of its board of directors.
