Shop fitting and retail interior design business, Anglo Interiors Ltd, is to undergo an asset sale after being placed into administration on 2 October.
Jason Baker and Paul Allen of FRP Advisory were brought in to the Cambridgeshire, St Neots-based business, and have now passed the sale proceedings over to recovery and insolvency support group Winterhill to manage.
Anglo Interiors had 120 permanent staff and dozens of contract workers, and operated from a 130,000-square-foot manufacturing site in the town. It counted some high-profile retail firms amongst its clients, such as Next, Gap, Hotel Chocolat and Arcadia.
The online auction for the business is being organised by Winterhill and will feature some high-tech woodworking equipment, machine tools and metal fabrication equipment from the factory site, and is set to take place from 18 to 20 November.
The company, whose previous name was Shand Walker 2 Limited, was bought out of administration in 2012, with a buy out that involved moving the business to its present much larger premises in St Neots. The site was four times bigger than its previous site and kitted out with state-of-the-art machinery.
Simon Creber, Winterhill’s director of machinery and business assets, said: “Anglo Interiors was a major employer in St Neots and the firm’s collapse is tremendously sad for the whole area and no doubt a symptom of the wider financial troubles faced by the retail sector.”
