Thu, 03 Mar 2011 | ADMINISTRATION
The retail arm of Arrogant Cat, the fashion brand popular with celebrities such as Katie Price, has entered administration.
Its three London stores, frequented by Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan, Amy Winehouse, Peaches Geldof and Katie Price, have since been put on the market.
Jason Baker and Geoff Rowley of FRP Advisory are handling the administration process for the business. Cash flow difficulties after the recession and a drop in trading led to the move into administration.
Arrogant Cat’s wholesale operation is not affected and will continue as normal. Similarly its flagship store in Hong Kong and franchises in Denmark, Dubai and Kuwait are unaffected.
Mr Baker said, “There are no current plans for redundancies and the business will continue to operate as normal.”
“It is a strong brand, has a loyal clientele and excellent trading locations; we are very hopeful of selling the business as a going concern.”
Arrogant Cat was launched in 2001 in London by the creative director Somi, and is very popular with celebrities the UK and the US.
