An administrator has now been appointed for Arinza Star Hotels Limited, which owns The Mill Hotel based in Croston, Lancashire and The Miraj Hotel and Leisure Club located in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
It has been made official that John Whitfield of the Global Restructuring Advisory practice at financial advisory and investment banking firm Duff & Phelps has been formally appointed.
John Whitfield of Duff & Phelps commented, “The next stage is for a comprehensive review to be undertaken at both hotels. Legacy Hotels and Resorts has been appointed by us as administrators to act as our managing agent to carry out the reviews and operate the properties as a going concern in the interim.”
He added, “We will act to ensure that all staff and customers will be kept fully updated at this difficult time as we assess the situation and work together to ensure the best outcome for the business.”
Legacy Hotels and Resorts has a portfolio of more than 30 three and four-star properties, including country houses and city centre hotels across the UK and Southern Spain. In total, it operates over 2,000 guest rooms.
Andy Townsend, chief executive officer of Legacy Hotels and Resorts, said, “We have vast experience in operating and managing hotels across the UK and have established a reputation of turning round under-performing venues.”
