Chapman Entertainment, a TV programme producer and licensor, has entered administration.
The company owned brands and shows such as Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, FiFi and the Flowertots and Little Charley Bear.
Declines in TV and licensing revenues have been held responsible for the decline in business that ultimately pushed the firm to call in BDO LLP as administrators.
Tony Nygate and Sarah Rayment, partners at the accountancy group, were appointed to handle Chapman and act on behalf of creditors to assess what the best step will be for the business now. This mean that a business sale will be on the cards in the near future.
Mr Nygate told Licensing.biz: “Sadly, the trading vehicle for these brands has suffered due to declining revenues from TV and product licensing and has ultimately failed.
“However, the brands continue to have a very strong following and we will be working with management to find ways to promote and maximise their value for the benefit of the company's creditors.”
Chapman Entertainment was founded in 2002 by its creative director, Keith Chapman, who was behind the hit children's programme Bob the Builder, along with Greg Lynn and Andrew Haydon.
